Now is the time that many of us are going to start thinking about what we hope to achieve in the New Year; it’s “resolution” time. People are eagerly writing down how they want to eliminate their debt; finally take that dream vacation that they have been promising their self, and their family; or, and this is one of the most common New Year’s resolutions, they have decided to start living a healthier life style – and that always sees subscriptions to gym’s and weight loss programs skyrocket about now.
Now that you have settled on a goal to lose weight, what do you need to do next? Just what is it going to take to get that desirable waistline, while making sure that you are doing it in a way that isn’t a risk to your health?
The first step in natural weight loss is to remember this word: natural. When looking into various fad diets, weight loss pills or the latest, trending 5-minute exercise, remember the word “natural.” If the weight loss solutions you have been researching include ingredients that aren’t all natural of if the exercise plan you’ve been eying states you’ll lose 10 pounds in just two days by wrapping a band around your waist, chances are these solutions aren’t for you.
Ok, having said all of that, where do you start your search for healthy and natural ways to lose weight?
First, the number one key to healthy, natural weight loss is diet. There are hundreds of diet plans and books out on the market today. From only consuming grapefruit and water, to eliminating carbs, to eating more carbs, to eliminating mean, to eating more meat, the different diet configurations are endless and even more confusing. At the end of the day, controlling your diet is simple. For healthy, natural weight loss, remember these important points:
1) Start to use portion control – only eat when you are hungry. Stop eating the moment your body tells you that you are full.
- Quality – Eat only natural, whole ingredients when possible. Processed foods don’t break down as easily-causing them to sit on your hips, belly and backside longer.
Is getting better at losing pounds simply a matter of those two things? Actually, it is that easy. Staying on track of the sheer amount of food digested, and the quality of that food on the magic steps needed to begin to see serious weight loss.
Secondly, exercise in another piece of the natural weight loss puzzle. Studies show that just 30 minutes of exercise per day, for at least 5 days out of the week will help prevent weight gain. When you exercise consistently, your body’s metabolism boosts and stabilizes at a point that is constantly working off those extra calories-similar to those coveted youthful days when you could eat whatever you want and never gain a pound. Whether you choose to run, walk briskly, dance, play tennis or any other fun activity, they key is to get your heart rate up for a consistent 30 minutes in order to achieve positive results. Can’t keep the cardio exercise up for 30 minutes? That’s completely okay. Sometimes you need to work yourself up to that point. Begin by pushing yourself as much as you can. When you feel like you need to stop, take a break. Continue to walk briskly so your heart rate remains elevated slightly. Once you’ve caught your breath, pick back up and keep going.
Whether your objective is to fit into the jeans again, for meeting friends at a wedding or school reunion, or simply to really get healthy – a healthy and natural regimen is the key to healthy and natural weight loss. Such a program will naturally lead to that result, if you have enough confidence and not to busy to treat your body properly and do what’s best for it.
